Question: How many cruises have you taken and what were the most significant? I have been fortunate to sail on over 100 cruises. Every cruise was special for different reasons. Exotic Destinations such as Europe and Alaska were exciting because of the diversity of each port of call. I have enjoyed meeting people and making new friends while escorting groups. It’s nice to sail on large vessels such as the Navigator of the Seas and having the choice of several entertainment and dining options. When wanting the best in a cruise there is nothing like being pampered aboard a 6-star ship such as the Crystal Symphony with the finest service available on land or sea. The best intimate cruise experience is the privacy of a yacht size sailing ship such as Windstar Cruises “Wind Spirit” in a one-of-a-kind place like Tahiti.
Question: What is your favorite cruise destination and why? I have enjoyed the Caribbean for it’s easy access to and from the United States and for it’s beauty and tropical setting. Europe and Asia have so much history and diversity. Only in Europe can you cruise from one country to another in one day and experience a completely different culture. You will never find a more hospitable place on earth then in Asia. Alaska is truly the “Last Frontier” and offers inspiring beauty that can be found nowhere else.
Question: What was the most exciting cruise you ever planned for someone and why? Every cruise (both individual and group) has been special, especially the reunion cruises where you get family and friends together for a 50th anniversary, birthday, retirement or class reunion.
Question: What do you enjoy the most about cruising? Cruising gives you the ability to unpack your luggage once and then travel to several destinations without having to repack and fly or drive to the next place. Also, the value of a cruise and having almost everything included in one price is a significant benefit!
Question: What do you believe is the biggest misconception about cruising? When a non-cruiser says they don’t want to be on a ship because they will feel confined with nothing to do. In reality most cruise ships are larger than most land based hotels. The Voyager Class Ships are 16 stories high and longer than 3 football fields. On a cruise ship you can find over 100 entertainment and activity options per day. What land based resort or hotel can say that?
Question: What are your personal favorite cruise lines and ships? My favorite large ship is the Navigator of the Seas or any Voyager Class Ship. My favorite small ship is the Wind Surf a sailing yacht size ship in the Windstar Cruises fleet.
