Question: How many cruises have you taken and what were the most significant? My first cruise was on the original Queen Mary. To date I have been on twelve cruises that include the Queen Elizabeth, and one of my favorites was aboard Uniworld's River Countess.
Question: What is your favorite cruise destination and why? I love to sail on the rivers of Europe and visit historical cities where there is so much to see.
Question: What was the most exciting cruise you ever planned for someone and why?A grandmother planned a family reunion cruise aboard the Queen Elisabeth 2. It was to be her first cruise and she wanted to share it with her family. Needless to say, they enjoyed the cruise very much.
Question: What do you enjoy the most about cruising? Embarking on a trip where you will be pampered 24 hours a day, relax in a casual atmosphere and only have to unpack your luggage once. I also enjoy meeting people from around the world.
Question: What do you believe is the biggest misconception about cruising? My biggest fear was getting seasick. After several cruises I no longer worry about this because the ships that sail today have state of the art stabilizers that help to ensure a smooth ride. Also, I know that some non-cruisers believe they will get bored. These ships are larger than most land based resorts and offer many activities and entertainment options for young and old. You would have to try really hard to get bored aboard a cruise ship.
Question: What are your personal favorite cruise lines and ships? Any riverboat cruise line such as Delta Queen, Uniworld and Viking River Cruises. In addition, Cunard Line, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises and Holland America Line always offer great value for your money.
